When You Pass Through the Waters – Self-Portrait // July

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” – Isaiah 43:2

This month’s verse has been a favorite for years. It doesn’t promise us that the storms and trials won’t come, but it’s a promise that HE will be with us in the trials and that He will see us through. We won’t be overcome, but instead we will overcome the fires and storms of life. I am grateful to have a Father who watches over me and allows trials in my life to purify me. In the midst of the trial it isn’t easy to feel thankful, but on the other side I can look back with gratitude and see His hand and how He is working to mold me into something of beauty and worth.
